When I drink this refreshing cherry smoothie I feel like Scarlett O’Hara in a fabulous hoop skirt lounging on the veranda of Tara without a care in the world. Men panting in every direction. For various reasons.
This is the beginning of the book, obviously.
In this fantasy, my greatest challenge is how to look cool in this intense, Georgian heat. But I have a secret weapon.
This mint tea infused cherry smoothie.
You know, we Southerners simply require tea but, oh my goodness, in this heat and humidity!?! Well, we just have to get a little bit creative with it, don’t we, darlin’?
In real life, in which I may or may not still be wearing a hoop skirt, this smoothie is my little gift to myself. AFTER the kids are off to school but BEFORE I start my busy day, I pile these five ingredients in a blender, pour it in a glass, add a metal straw and give myself a moment of slurpy silence.
You might want to call it “smoothie-fueled meditation.”
Or you might just want to call it “breakfast.”
I call it bliss. With a southern accent.

So refreshing! I love smoothies!
Me too (as if you couldn’t tell LOL)
I’m in love with these flavors!
It’s super yummy. I’m all about kefir these days. Cherries and mint always.
I love the way you meditate!! I do the same with my morning coffee..of course i need two cups now that I am getting up at Godawful 6:15 am. As for the smoothie, darling you had me at Tara!! SO glad you like the book too..I read it first when I was 13 and its still something I reach for when I get in the mood for some old time classic loving.. BEAUTIFUL light and photography. Pinning..sharing..everything!! Xo
Thanks S. I discovered GWTW at around the same age and basically died over the movie. So beautiful.
You are seriously killing it with these tea infused smoothies. I am loving the Gone with the wind imagery ๐ But I love cherries in my smoothies, and that plus the mint tea and the kiefer, it really does sound so refreshing!
Thanks, Meghan. My blender is definitely getting a work out and my tea collection is blossoming!
Christine, you had me laughing throughout this post! Um, can I get a glass of this bliss (with an even heavier Southern accent than yours?? Haha). Sans hoop skirt please? I so could not pull that off. LOVE your tea-infused smoothie series! ๐
I think the key to pulling off a hoop skirt is moving as little as possible ๐ Thanks for the comment, Demeter!
I love, love smoothies and this is packed with mint flavor!
You know, I’m drinking one now without the tea. It’s not as good.
